What is the physical state of interstellar medium in high redshift galaxies?
[Abstract]
I would like to review one of the most controversial issues in galaxy science, that is physical conditions of interstellar medium (ISM) in high redshift galaxies.
Many works seeking physical properties of star-forming galaxies at high redshifts have been published in recent years, and these are strongly suggesting that ISM conditions at high redshifts are different from those in the local Universe. This review will show
recent highlights of such kind of studies including our submitted letter (Shimakawa et al. arXiv:1411.1408).
