- Electroweak responses of light elements for astrophysical reactions

Nuclear response functions for electroweak interactions provide us with important information on the resonant and continuum structure of the nuclear system as well as the detailed property of the underlying interactions.
These are also important for the scenario of a supernova explosion. In the final stage of a core collapse supernova, nucleus is exposed to intense flux of neutrino. The neutrino-nucleus reaction is expected to play a significant role, and the reaction rate is proportional to the weak responses, for example, due to Gamow-Teller, spin-dipole, etc. operators. Since the cross section is so small to observe accurately, a reliable theoretical method is desired for a precise determination of the reaction rate.
We describe the electroweak excitations based on an ab initio few-body quantum calculation. Final state interactions and explicit many-body decay channels are taken into account. Our calculations reproduce almost all the data of the photoabsorption reaction. We also apply our method to the spin-dipole excitations which will be important for evaluating the neutrino-nucleus reaction rate. - 連絡先
