Title: Study of massive star-forming regions using FUGIN data
Abstract:
Interstellar gas before star formation is an important factor in the evolution of massive star-forming regions on the Galactic plane. In this study, we will detect the interstellar gas in the pre-stellar stage of star formation and explore how the gas changes between the spiral arms. We analyzed 13CO and 12CO (J=1-0) lines in the FUGIN galactic plane survey from the Nobeyama Radio Observatory 45 m telescope. Referring to Sawada et al 2014, We have created a distribution function of the brightness temperature (BDF) in order to understand the diffuse and bright gas component. We will also introduce an index (BDI) which indicates the dominance of the Bright component. We divide the data into voxels and map each voxel with its BDI. The BDI values suggest that some voxels are directly affected by the star formation region, while others are not. We are currently investigating how the BDI changes by masking out the HII regions listed in the F. J. Lockman 1989 catalog in the data. We are trying to identify the gas distribution that causes star formation but is not directly affected by the star forming regions.
