Research Field

  • Solar physics, Development of solar observational instruments

Degree

  • Ph. D.

Summary of Research

  • I’m working on the evolution of solar active regions: how solar active regions store the energy, become unstable, and cause solar flares, which are known as the largest explosion in the solar system. I’m analyzing the three-dimensional magnetic field structure of active regions using magnetohydrodynamic modeling based on magnetic field measured with spectropolarimetric observations. In recent years, I have also been investigating the capability of the future observations by performing radiation transfer calculations on the results of numerical simulations of magnetohydrodynamics. I’m also involved in the development of instruments for the future solar observation missions such as the international balloon experiment SUNRISE and the solar observing satellite SOLAR-C.
